The Cre8ive Pulse is a personal freelance company from the mind of Christy Smay, who has been on the pulse of creativity since she was old enough to hold a pencil.
Christy grew up drawing everything that popped into her head…even in the margins of her grade school homework. When she would do or say something silly, her Mom would whisper, “She’s creative…” as an excuse…like creativity was something she’d caught.
While in college, she interned as a graphic designer for the Veteran’s Administration at Jefferson Barracks. She graduated from SIUE in 2001 with a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications, focus in print advertising and a minor in studio art.
Since then Christy has been awarded many miscellaneous freelance jobs, clients including but not limited to The March of Dimes, Tory Rae Photography, AgriSolutions, D&R Machine Co. and many more. In addition to her freelance commitments, Christy has worked as a Packaging Project Coordinator for Color Associates (Group 360), a Marketing Coordinator for State Farm Insurance, a Project Manager/Junior Graphic designer for Sara Lee Creative Services (Sara Lee Food & Beverage Corporation,) and a Project Manager in Marketing Operations for Edward Jones, all located in St. Louis, MO.
Christy currently resides in Jerseyville, IL with her amazing husband, Nathan, a veteran of the war in Iraq now completing his teaching degree and beautiful son, Cade, the angel that kept their minds off the war.
